Who we are

My dad and I shared a lot of hobbies over the years—watching football every Sunday, working on cars in the garage, and just spending time talking about life. But the one thing that was always ours, from the time I was five years old, was golf. Every Sunday, almost without fail, we’d hit the course together, and those rounds are my most cherished memories. He may have not been able to teach me the swing mechanics but he taught me to love it.

I am grateful to everyone at LuLu Country Club for allowing me to host a golf outing in his honor. While we never played LuLu we always admired Donald Ross courses, seeking them out whenever we had the chance. His designs had a character we both appreciated and playing them felt like a shared appreciation.

Golf wasn’t just a game for us it was something we spent so much time together bonding over and something that will always connect us.

Please join us on June 1st at Lulu Country Club to honor my Dad and best friend Bob Thompson Jr., who passed away on October 5th, 2024.

What do you do?

In the first year we were able to donate over $2,000 to the Shevlin Family Foundation. These donations go directly to the First Helps Program - this helps with:

Housing scholarships (in vetted recovery homes), a stocked food pantry, a full size hygiene product closet, and clothing closet.

“It is these little things that make a big difference to someone who has lost everything --- except their willingness to work a strong recovery program and maintain sobriety!  They cannot (yet) help themselves - and our engagement and encouragement helps”
